Day Two

Oklahoma City to Santa Fe. Drove through Texas. Oklahoma felt desolate & abandoned. Texas seemed rather desolate, in a good way, and had some weird stuff. Granted, we only saw a very very small piece. We spent the morning driving to see an abandoned city, in reed oklahoma. It used to be booming & productive. It now is basically a ghost town. We were slightly unimpressed, since we had this idea there would be an abandoned school, post office, multiple homes, and stores. Maybe even a saloon with the doors creaking in the wind. As we continued down a lone road in oklahoma that led us into Texas, we did continue to see many abandoned places... Gas stations just empty. Homes that once looked beautiful, totally weathered & dilapidated.

.... We didn't want to turn around so we just figured out a way through...

Empty gas stations...

This poor runaway :(

Crossing the border fromOk to TX. Literally the only car for miles and miles. Only cows & an empty road. All of a sudden we come up to this sign... So we pulled over & took pics , went over and talked to the cows, and we were amazed at the absolute silence & the feeling that we were the only people around for miles and miles. We couldn't see or hear anyone else. And you can see a really long ways!!! It was incredible & hard to describe that feeling.

Texas has warm weather. Warm weather grows fruit, right? We saw a peach stand and got so excited & immediately pulled over. Alas, no peaches. It's winter. But it feels like summer!! We got peach jam instead. The ladies at the stand got a second laugh from us when if got in the car & loudly anounced "man it smells like farts in here" Jacey replied " I haven't even farted today!" The window was down. Peach-jam-making grandma heard it all and was laughing. It was funny. People fart. I love the someecard that says "farts are just turds honking to get out". Real life.

Texas has some weird stuff:

Big legs

Cadillac Ranch

Tagging, welcomed.

We ended in Santa Fe, NM. The state of enchantment. Or as the locals call it, the city of entrapment. We are in love. Head over heels.
