Lou Mitchell's for breakfast!
Missouri sounds like misery for a reason.
St. Louis was cool but we figured we can do a weekend trip there any time we want. So we did a quick drive through & admired cobblestone roads & a pretty river.
And then the check engine light came on. And the cruise control light started flashing. And the ABS light too. The manual doesn't tell you anything about this combination. Google does though. And we figured out we left our gas tank lid an hour or so back. So we went and bought one but that didn't fix the problem. So we drove to a random town accidentally (bad GPS) & had to go back the direction we came, etc etc etc. It's fixed now. And fine.
Things we learned....
-Gas caps should always have a plastic string attached.
-Missouri is unremarkable.
-Missouri & Oklahoma just look like Indiana & Illinois.
-The "green carpet motel" next "double D saloon" .... We figured $43.00 wasn't cheap enough to get us to stay.
-Our southern accents need work.
-Road atlas is always better than gps (we've done everything possible to NOT use our phones. Paper maps are way better!)
-Music that is specific to that state/city...So fun. Historical & educational, too.
-Jacey has driving narcolepsy.
-I drive on the rumble strips about 1/10 of the time.
