My Favorite Season
Days spent enjoying the warm sunshine, beautiful colors, & exploring Eugene and surrounding areas. Paying attention to details, learning about different trees & plants.
Learning to have fun by myself.
Muddy pants, because when it rains a lot, sometimes you can't climb up steep trails.
Kelly Visits the Pacific Northwest
Kelly came to Portland, so I drove up there and met her on a Saturday night. We woke up in the morning, in Portland, and decided to drive to Bend, to see a couple of friends. As we prepared for our hour long trip to Bend, we stopped & got some delicious breakfast bagel sandwiches. And then we discovered it is nearly a four hour trip to Bend. Minor detail. Sometimes I get small details like this wrong. We were already committed to going, so we just decided we would get a lot of talking time in that day. As we were driving, suddenly, there was a snow storm. And then we arrived in the desert.
We met up with our friends in Sisters, and ventured down the McKenzie Pass, to get to the Dee Wright Observatory for some great views of the Cascades.
We did not have any views of the mountains, but it was still a fun drive!
We were so cold.
So then we went to Tumalo Falls & hiked.
And then when we were tired & cold, we went to McMinneman's & enjoyed sitting next to a wood burning stove & had a drink & some delicious fries.
