Weddings are so fun. This one especially, since I have known Lisa my whole life. Lisa is one of the friends I never actually chose to have as a friend. Our grandma's, Millie & Suzie were friends, our mom's, Rosanne & Julie were friends, so we have always been friends. Over the years I have spent countless hours with this girl... I remember hours and hours of dress up; playing leaf houses or in tree forts, forming clubs together in middle school, going to Awana and VBS, making stores and creating magazines, trying to create our own businesses; I remember numerous pranks we would play on each other. Phone pranks were our favorites. Throughout highschool, Lisa & I drove to all of our basketball practices & games together. We spent a lot of time talking about life, boys, and having dumb conversations in weird voices. We made movies together during the summer, and our senior year was one of the best years ever... working on the Prim (home school Prom) committee together (chair & co-chair), having speech class together, and then spending a week in NYC with all of the other seniors. Such a great year. I am so thankful for this girl's honesty. As long as I can remember she has been so honest & transparent. She would usually say things that I was too embarrassed or immature to verbalize. I appreciate her boldness in being who she is, and not worrying about what others think. I love how energetic she is and how excited she gets about things. My favorite memory of the weekend is her beaming face & exclamation of "I'm getting MARRIED!!" dozens of times. Lisa has been so patient with waiting for the right time to get married to Mike. It was been so neat to watch her grow through her relationship with Mike; I have seen God work in her life & mature her & grow her in amazing ways!

The night before the wedding, the three of us stayed at Lisa's.

The happy groom :)
So nice to spend time with Trisha!!
The "cutting the cake" pictures are always funny. Does anyone else think this is an odd tradition? Like honestly, why would you start a marriage out by feeding each other cake? It's not like that is a normal part of your relationship going forward. Or atleast, I hope not. This picture reminds me of the weird traditions that are a part of weddings. And we just keep doing them, simply because everyone else for years has. I guess it is more romantic to feed each other a bite of cake after you get married, than to walk over to a sink of dishes and clean a pan, or to go fold a fitted-sheet from a basket of laundry. Honestly, wouldn't that better represent marriage?? Please feel free to comment on this...
So many people to catch up with, and not enough time! :( July will be here before I know it, and I will get to spend more time with my family when I am back then. :)
Congrats Mike & Lisa!
