Camping in White Tanks Regional Park

What do you do with a weekend off in Arizona? Go camping! The only campground with available campsites for reservation were in the White Tank Mountains Regional Park, which was nice because I haven't done any exploring on the west side of Phoenix. Saturday morning we left Maricopa, picked up Kettia, and headed out to the park... After setting up camp we went for a hike to see a waterfall. We went for a second hike after that, and it was just like a dream I had the night before. I had dreamt that Kettia, Ana and I were out hiking in the middle of nowhere and we first saw one rattlesnake and it attacked us, and then as we continued down the trail there were more and more! It happened just like my dream... we were hiking in a kind of weird place, and then we come up to some people and they tell us, hey, be careful, we just ran in to a rattlesnake at the top of the hill.  It was really big. watch out. We continued hiking, with stones in our hands to throw at the snake if it starting come towards us, and we made Ana go first because she was the least scared off all three of us. It wasn't a super fun hike. Not amazing views. And scary, listening and looking for a rattlesnake the whole time. On my to-do list: learn more about first aid for rattle snake bites, figure out what they do before they attack people, and how to best guard yourselves against being attacked.

The photo went off before we were ready...
