Kelly & Courtney: Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona, & Jerome

Kelly B.; we bonded one night in college during Maddox Open Dorms, & have since been steadfast friends. Her great dance moves, tactful wording, blushing stories, & love for Arrested Development have made us forever friends. I was delighted when she said she would come visit me in Arizona, and I packed it full of fun places to visit. I picked her up at the airport day 1 with a loaded car & we drove up to Northeast Arizona, and camped at Wahweap Campground on Lake Powell. Without getting in to all of the boring details, we packed a ton of stuff in to just a few days... Kayaked Antelope Canyon (almost didn't make it back), hiked in to the canyon (amazing), visited Horseshoe Bend, sprinted to see a sunset at the Grand Canyon, camped at Mather Campground, smelled like campfire, laughed out loud at This American Life podcasts, took ridiculous pictures in our sleeping bags, hiked all day at Sedona, spent time at LoLo Mai Campground under the beautiful cottonwood trees & bubbling creek.

The most clear water I have ever seen!

Can you spot the little kayaker?? Lovely blue skies, red rock & green water. Amazing!

Sunrise at the Grand Canyon, the next morning!

Morning camping photos are my favorite.

Driving to Flagstaff

Lunch at this neat cafe

Hiking Coffee Pot, Sedona.

We lost the trail at the coffee pot rock, so we gave up & found a different trail to hike!

it was so windy.

Slide Rock State Park

This guy just appeared from behind the rocks & started playing My Heart Will Go On. It was beautiful.

Too cold to swim, but still beautiful.

Lunch in Jerome, Arizona.

We stopped & visited the Grand Hotel, which used to be an Insane Asylum. Very interesting.
One of the owners was outside, and we started talking to him, and before we know it he is opening his garage & showing us his vintage Rolls Royce!
